Getting rid of automatic start of Windows Explorer

Does someone know how to avoid automatic start of Windows Explorer when I
login?
I am using Windows XP Professional.
It is NOT set up in the Startup folder.

Is it always opening with the focus on the same folder? Which folder?

Was the program left open when you logged off of your previous Windows
session?

Hi Sharon,
Yes, it is always the same folder: c:\windows\system32
It does'nt matter if the explorer is open when I log off.

The following fix from MVP Kelly Theriot corrects a few of the common
situations that cause this behavior. You can find it on Line 260, right
hand side on this page: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

Once you're at the page and scroll down to line 260 (almost at the bottom,
may want to start at bottom and scroll up), the link for "System32 Folder
Opens Upon Boot" goes to a VBS file that you can download. You can view the
file contents in Notepad before using it if you'd like to see what changes
it will make in your system.

Double click the file to run it. May need to restart (or at least log off
and back on again) before the changes take effect.
