View Full Version : How do I remove myself from Windows Messenger?

Short of removing Windows Messenger itself, how do I disassociate my
email address from the messenger service?

I don't remember how I set it up, but now every time I start Windows
Messenger, my email address is associated with it and if I click on
the address, I log in, without typing in password. I want to remove my
email address from the Windows Messenger. How do I do it?

Please help! I feel trapped by Microsoft. Once you touch it, you are
stuck! Yuck!

Thanks!

Greetings,

To remove it from your Windows XP account, click the Start Button, then click the Control
Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and then
on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network Passwords'. In
the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click 'Remove'.

To actually remove it as a .NET Passport on the Microsoft servers, see here:
