When I log on the Microsoft on line error reporting
system tells me that there is a problem with a program.
The window gives me the option of sending an error report
or not. I don't want to send an error report but every
time I log on the error notice reappears. How do I get
rid of it?

You need to find out what program is causing the startup error. Then you
need to get some details about that error. Click Start> Run and type in
eventvwr.msc and then click OK. The Event Viewer window should pop up.

There are three branches. Check the Application and the System branches for
error message items (marked with a red icon). Each item has a time/date
stamp. Choose the ones that correspond to the time you started the system.
Double click on these items to open a new window.

Besides a description of the error, there will be a link in the details
window. Click on that while you are online. If there is more info about
that particular error message in the OCA databases, you'll get a browser
page displaying a short explanation, a probable cause and possibly some
links to related MS Knowledge Base articles.

Use the information gathered form Event Viewer to search for more
information about the program and error. You can search with something like
google.com, the MS Knowledge Base, the tech support site for the program
involved or post the information in a newsgroup.

Hello Sharon F.

Thank you for your reply which I have just read having
returned from holiday.

I've left a new message regarding the continuing error
message just in case this original message is too old.

Thanks again.
