View Full Version : Windows Script Host - where?????

~ Free Spirit ~

Can someone tell me how to find and download the "Windows Script Host" from
the MS website? We cannot find it searching through the hundreds and
hundreds of pages at the MS site. Evidently it's needed for the VBS program
I need to run. Does it go by another name there?

TIA :-)

Hiding on your hard drive. ;o)

Both Wscript.exe and Cscript.exe should be on your machine.
Or you will find them in the \i386 file on your XP CD.

[[You can run either of these by typing Wscript.exe or Cscript.exe at the
command prompt.]]
wscript /? yields a help popup
cscript /? will show Usage.

## OK,... it was "disabled" so is on this machine. This PC is running W98.
I can't get updates from the MS site. Since this PC was recently
reformatted I'm screwed. :-(

## On W98 one of the above worked and one didn't. I didn't understand the
popup window anyway.

## We had already found a lot of information but nothing on why a certain
script/program wouldn't work. Now we have it working but notepad is too
small to hold most MS Stationary. I searched about 10 old backup CDs and
didn't find a larger version I downloaded some time ago....
AAAARGGGHHHHH!!!!! :-O

## Yes, it did help! Thanks.... :-) Now I need to find a Notepad that
will hold all the codes for a fancy stationery. The script wont work with
larger files, nor will Notepad. This is the free X-UNSENT: 1 vbs script
from the Lettermanstationary.com site.

Maybe you should've spent another four minutes
to find something in English. ;o)

Maybe the VBS script plain doesn't work.
Maybe your copy is corrupt. Re-download?

Check out NoteTab Light

[[Many of us resend e-mail and posts.
To do this we have to add the "X-Unsent:1" line to the .EML or NWS file.]]

I downloaded, unzipped, made a shortcut to XUnsent.vbs.
I could not figure out how I could drag a file from OE to
the shortcut. ;-(

Hi Wes,

Actually, there was a point in choosing that link to send.

Hi Wes,

Judging by this thread and many others that were started by the same poster,
I thought another language might be appropriate.

Cheers, JAX

## I'm wise to THAT. That'e always the first thing I try. It works on some
emls and not others for some weird reason.

## The ones that the VBS script wouldn't do I did by hand. I did download
NotePad Light plus 2 more to try (from the freeware NG).

## The best way to do that is have the folder of files on the desk top.
Rename them to emls. Then just drag&drop them on top of the X-unsent
shortcut. That's it!!! It takes only seconds each! Nothing could be
faster. :o)
