I found out I have a file named mpldfg.exe that is placed
on comp by the optix trojan. Norton anti virus won't run
and other virus scans shut down in the middle of
scanning. I looked for the mpldfg.exe file in the
registry and can't find it. I need some help with this
please. I have xp hoem edition and a fairly uneducated
computer person.

Alison,
Read the removal instructions at the end CAREFULLY - especially relating
after the Trojan has started running.
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/backdoor.optixpro.13.html
Print this webpage out (from someone else's computer if you are not able to
access an anti-virus site) and follow the steps to the exact absolute
letter.
Hope this helps,
Chek
