View Full Version : Address Bar not displayed in Windows Explorer in XP

I just recently purchased a new computer with XP (my old
OS was WIN98). In win98, I was able to navigate Windows
Explorer through the address bar. However, my XP does
not display the address bar (even when I select View =>
Toolbars ==> Address Bar). The only thing that happens
when I try the above steps is the word "Address" appears
to the right of the screen (horizontal to the the
Standard Buttons). I also selected "Display the full
path in the address bar" under the advanced view setting
of the Folder Options, but that didn't do anything. Any
ideas on how I can get Windows Explorer to view the title
bar?

Hi,
Right click a blank area of the toolbar, and make sure there isn't a
checkmark next to the option " Lock the toolbar".
Then use your mouse and drag the "address" around and the address input box
should be visible.

Download the Addressbar fix from here:
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/reg/IEToolbar.reg
Deletes the following registry key; Resets Toolbar, Addressbar positions to
defaults. Restores hidden/missing bars:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
{Applicable for Windows Explorer also}
