Is it posible to convert *.chk fies, created as a result
of "scandisk", back to original data?

Some .chk files are just fragments rather than whole files, so there's
nothing to do with them. But if, for example, you know you've lost some
documents, you could open those .chk files in notepad and see if any of them
are indeed documents, and then rename them accordingly.

There's no automatic way to convert them, if that's what you're asking.

It depends. These are essentially just text files. If your
original data was text, you may be able to use some of the file
fragments, but you'll have to reconstruct any files yourself.

If the original data was a more complex format, the chk files are
useless.

Personally, I have never reconstructed anything useful from a chk
file.
