boot problem

i get a message on my computer when it starts that
states, Windows XP could not start because the following
file is missing or corrupt:

Winnt_root\System32\Ntoskrnl.exe
How do i reinstall that file since it will not boot into
windows in order to get to DOS. I am lost please help

do you have a disc? You can snag one file off of a disc. sorry, i'm not
that smart but hit the MS search page for retrieving a single file from
disc. or wait for one of the forum MVP's to stop by your problem. I'm
assuming you can't get to safe mode or last good configuration?

i am not able to snag file off of the disk since i cant
load windows at all and can not get into DOS in order to
be able to browse a disc or a drive.
