Does it only happen with PowerPoint?
Perhaps the offline cache is "confused". See
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;230738 for
instructions how to re-build it. I had to do this once to fix
unexplained problems with offline files which were confused even when
online or offline. Seemed to clear the problem, and it hasn't come back.
Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.

Thanks for this but I don't think that will be the problem as it happens on
all the Win 2K laptops running Office 2002. This does not happen on Win XP
laptops running Office 2002.
