Just one more question please. I'm a newbie to all this.
I like using Windows Movie Maker. Do they just have a
product that I can buy that only has a DVD recorder?
Most products I've found have everything else included
with the DVD recorder. Since I have Movie Maker I don't
want all the other stuff like-tranistion-titles-video
drivers-storyline-etc...I just want a DVD recorder. Is
there such a thing or are we stuck buying the whole nine
yards?
Why doesn't Windows just have a DVD recorder available
for The Movie Maker?
It would make my life easier and isn't that what Window's
XP is all about? Making my life easier? Ha-Ha

DVD Recorder drives are freely available with or without software, but Movie
Maker CANNOT record in a format recognisable by set top DVD players. For
that you need some DVD authoring software. Personally, I use DVD-Lab but
that's NOT aimed at the novice. Sonic's MyDVD is quite simple to use...
Movie Maker is a fairly simple application not intended for serious use and
so doesn't have any of the powerful features you'd really need.

The hardware in your PC is not decided by Microsoft, but by whoever builds
and sells the PC. Some have DVD recorders, some don't, although the
specification requirements for XP Media Centre Edition do require a DVD
recorder...
