printer problem

i connected a canon bjc 4000 printer to my computer (parallel port). xp does not detect it. when i try to launch 'add printer' it says 'could not be completed' that's all. i upgraded to xp recently, might have to do with the problem.. could find a solution
anywhere.

Did you download and install the XP print driver from Cannon Web site so
your canon will work with XP?
