Has anyone had a problem with the hard disk activity light remaining on? It
does'nt flicker or turn off at all. It started yesterday for no known
reason. I ran a scan disc and everything is fine. The computer runs fine
and there isn't any other problems, but this thing with the light is driving
me nuts! Should I try a system restore? Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks,
Keith

Hi Keith,
Do you have the Indexing service turned on?
That could explain it.
To see what programs/services are accessing your drives, try File
Monitor
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/filemon.shtml
this will give you a lot of information, try to filter the things you
know about that are safe.
Good luck

Hi Roger,
Thanks for the response!
I checked the Indexing Service and that is not running.
I'm going to try File Monitor and see what it tells me.
Thanks for the link.

Hi Keith,
You can also try enabling the I/O read/write columns in your task
manager to see what program is writing to the disk.
Good luck
