Hi,

We have W2K and WXP clients connected to DC.
With the WXP clients I can't select 'make available
offline', it's grey.
If I enable 'offline files' all folders and subfolders
from the network are selected to synchronise.
None of the subfolders can be deselected for offline use.
With the W2K machines it works fine.
If I log on as admin on the WXP machines it works fine.

Please help,
Dieter

Hi Knut,

It's located on a NAS-server.
It's bizar, when i map another network drive it works.
In the past I've used a GP to synchronize the users data
folder and subfolders (\\dataserver\userdata\userA) but I
have removed that some time ago (because some users had to
deselect synchronization of subfolders)
Maybe XP still remember this? I've restart the client 20
times but still the same.
When i check clients with gpresult i cant see any fixed
path or disabled functions.
Help...

Thanks,

Dieter

I have the same problem mentioned in the post below (i.e., "make available
offline" is checked & is grayed out).

To answer your question, the folder is located ona domain-based share. Does
this make it a DFS root?

And, if so, how is that relevant?

Hi JR, Knut and others,

No it is not located on a domain based DFS root but it is
located on a domain-based share.

I've did a lot of research, changing permissions, other
maps, other server, etc.. without results.

I think it happens when you change 'my documents' path to
the network folder. XP will make it available offline as
soon you restart pc.

It's really boring and I have a lot of trouble here,
people have to wait too long to log on and off.

Thanks for feedback,

Dieter
