Can someone please help me? I have Norton protecting my system and recently
I have had a warning that a file has been trying to access the internet. It
is happening every couple of hours or so, I block the attempt and set it to
always do this but it still warns me. So I tried letting it connect and the
same thing happens.
The file is windows-reg32reg.exe, I have tried to delete the file but XP
will not let me as it says the file is in use, full or write protected.
How can I stop this annoying warning????????

Please help, thanks in advance,
Neil Barnes.

Sounds like a variation of the Yaha Worm virus (W32.Yaha.P@mm, =
WORM_YAHA.P, W32/Yaha-Q, Yaha.Q@mm), and this one is fairly new (came =
around middle of last month). Have you updated your vrus definitions =
lately, then tried to do a scan?

Ass an addition, I went to SYmantec and found that the p@mm variant can =
terminate some antivirus and firewall processes, hence your quandry with =
Norton. Go here for help with it.

It can be a Trojan, but more likely ( a guess) you have a
program such a WMP9, or some other program that "needs" to
be registered or is set to update on a schedule.

Does your Norton report any other details, such as where the
program file is trying to contact? Have you selected the
file and looked at its properties?
