Upgrading to XP from 98

I have been trying to upgradef rom 98 to XP Pro but at the
end of the Preparing Installation step it always aborts
and I get a Blue screen and have to reboot. Any ideas
what I need to do?

Also, make sure you turn off any virus protection options in the BIOS
which may prevent system files being copied to the hard disk or the
MBR being changed.
