Is anyone using McAfee AV version 7? I just received my Word Perfect
program from Corel and it came with this as an optional add-on. I'm
wondering how good McAfee version 7 is in comparison with others (i.e.
Norton) in terms of amount of system resources it takes to run,
reliability of updates at frequent intervals and most important,
effectiveness in stopping infection. Thank you.

It's kinda like Chevys and Fords. The Ford guys think that all GM
products are worthless and the Chevy guys think that FORD stands for Fix
Or Repair Daily. And then there are the foreign car guys who won't have
anything to do with either Chevy or Ford. Same thing with McAfee and
Norton. Personally, I've had very good experience with Norton Antivirus
(not the rest of the Norton "security" products) and not so good luck with
McAfee.

And for me it is exactly the opposite! No luck at all with
Norton but Mcafee run's like a charm. Version 8.0 Pro.
Go figure!

I have had no problems with McAfee. I just started using
it last week after 7 years of Norton. McAfee does not
consume as much resources and for me and it was easier and
quicker to install. You have to register McAfee 8.0
before in order to receive updates, which is a painless
thing to do. We use McAfee at work and have no problems.
