Is there any way change an existing XP user from a local
account to an account under active directory other than
creating a new user and transferring all of the settings.
Regards
Dylan.

You will first have to create the user in Active Directory with the
appropriate permissions. Then either you or the user (someone with local
Administrator priveleges) can add the computer to the domain by
right-clicking on the My Computer icon and selecting Properties and using
the Networ ID wizard from the Computer Name tab.

You could give the current profile full control to the active dir
account thus allowing the account to use the profile as well as the
local account.
1. Open Explorer
2. Browse to C:\Documents and Settings\
3. Select the folder, properties, security
4. Add the domain account to security list and give full control
5. Logout
6. Get user to login and hopefully it will use the same profile
otherwise a new profile is created.
