Hello
A few days ago strange things started to happend. There is
no dial signal on my modem ( i don't hear anything ) and
connection is useless ( I can't watch any websites, I
can't update symantec products, or windows )... I don't
know what's going on... I scanned my comupter by antivirus
with base 12.02.2004 and by ad-aware. They didn't found
anything. I think that somecript has done something wrong
with my computer ( some of this scripts which are with pop
ups ;( I don't know how to fix it. Repairing system didn't
change anything. I watched my process list there is
nothing working in memory that can do that thing. Before I
started to clean I had iostd.exe ( it's some kind of
trojan horse ) and there was something like alg.exe but
I'm not sure if second isn't part of the system ? In short
problems looks like : sound of modem is set to mute ( in
properties it's set on high level ), and connection is
established but I can watch only a few pages, for example
microsoft page is disabled ( it returns "No page" ) the
same happens with symantec page.

It sounds like your computer is not virus-free and not spyware-free. If
you need more help cleaning up the computer, call a good local repair
person. The last two calls I've been on with Internet connectivity
problems were because of the CoolWebSearch spyware.
