I have just installed winxp pro on a gateway 2300 laptop. Two things
have happened:
1. None of the icons on the desktop are active (my computer, recycle
bin, my documents, etc.)
2. The synaptics touchpad will not scroll.
I tried to update the driver from synaptics website, (US7_8_10w2K file),
but got an installation error.
It works ok otherwise , but no scroll from right side. I can use a
regular mouse and scroll wheel does work.
As for the desktop icons, I can right click them and hit open and they
do (open).
Any help would be appreciated on both (or either) problem.
