I have a Dell Inspiron 8100 Labtop, pent 3, 256 RAM. I
recently bought Windows XP Pro and did a clean install
(on a brand new hard drive dell sent me). Since I didn't
buy XP pro from dell they won't cover any windows
support. My computer is continuously freezeing,
sometimes it will freeze right at startup, and sometime
it will freeze 45 min to and hour of being on, or
anywhere in between, But it will not freeze if the
computer is idol. only when a task it processing When it
freezes it freezes, I can't move my mouse, nor can I hit
CTRL+ALT+DEL. The only option I have is to power the
system off manually.

Please Help,

Bob

Their is no one answer to your question.. make sure you have run disk
cleanup, scan for virus', scan for spyware, and make sure you have all
windows updates. Also make sure you have updated drivers for everything.

After eliminating all those, then worry about your
hardware.
