DIsappearing Wallpaper

What does a scan with a current antivirus program (meaning a version not
earlier than 2002 and using updated virus definitions) show?

If you know your computer is virus and spyware-free, then please repost
with a better description of the problem. What wallpaper, what changed
between the time things worked and the time they didn't, what you mean
by "cannot get any to run".
