What purpose does "Microsoft Generic Host Process for
Win32 Services" serve. . . what does it do? Tried to
find the answer myself, but could not. Thanks everyone!!

A search at Microsoft's support site will show their KB article describing
it:

- Go to http://support.microsoft.com/.
- Search on "svchost" for "Windows XP.
- It's the 2nd article listed (314056).
