I upgraded to Windows XP Home Edition. I did not install
it myself. I now feel like that I am sharing my PC but I
do not have multiple users sharing one PC. I am not on a
network except I do use my CableTV High Speed Internet
for access to the web and e-mail. Does anyone think that
my computer was set up wrong? Thanks.

Don't quite understand what you are asking.
Do you want to set up multiple users, or have you got more than one user set
up and you want to get rid of it?

On a standalone machine with a single user, XP will still show several user
accounts. That's how it works and it's normal.

Under Documents and Settings, you should see:
- "Administrator" - the default administrative account created by XP
- Your account
- Default User - the template account used to create new accounts
- All Users - items in this account show up for all user accounts including
yours
- LocalService and NetworkService accounts are used by programs and various
processes.

NOTE: Some of the above may not show up if you still have Windows
Explorer's View set to hide system files and folders.

In Control Panel> User Accounts:
-Administrator (may not show up on XP Home)
-Your account
-Guest account
-ASP.NET machine account if you have .Net Framework 1.2 installed

Hi Sandra,

What makes you feel like you are sharing your PC?"

Some cable users notice a distinct slowdown at about 7 PM when everyone
finishes their dinner and fires up their computers. If there are a lot of
cable users on the street or in the neighborhood the signal has to be
"shared" (like water pressure).

The other thing I can think of that might make your computer act strangely
is the presences of viruses and spyware. Is your anti-virus software
up-to-date and have you run a spyware detector like AdAware or SpyBot?
