I want to get rid of Windows Messenger Icon in the Taskbar(Notification
Area). I have gone into properties, customize and it is not in there.
Thanks

Hi there Terry,
Click Start, Run, type MSCONFIG and click OK.
Select startup tab, and click to clear msmsgs check box
Click OK to restart the computer.
Disable MSConfig Selective Startup Screen

A better way to disable it: If you don't want messenger running when
Windows starts, open Messenger, go to Tools, Options, and turn it off. Now
the icon won't show either. I think you can also tell it not to show the
icon even when loaded.
