Printer sharing from XP laptop to '98 desktop

I have the HP PSC 950 printer driver loaded onto the
laptop now, both systems with "allow print sharing"
enabled but still can't print from wireless connected
laptop (XP) to the HP connected to the desktop (98). Is it
because of the different operating systems (although both
support printer sharing, or perhaps something elementary
that I'm missing?

First ensure that the shared name of the printer is no more than 12
characters/number and has NO SPACES in it!
