View Full Version : What is n-CASE?

When running Spybot, it found several spywares on my computer. One of them
is n-CASE.
Those were removed. When booted, I got the following dialog box:
"The system has detected that a third-party application has removed n-CASE.
This may cause some programs not to run as expected."
This warning worried me. Could someone tell me what is n-CASE and should I
keep n-CASE on my computer?
Regards,
Satoshi

Craig:
n-CASE is spyware. More info on that here
http://doxdesk.com/parasite/nCase.html
Note that n-CASE often comes bundled with other programs. Quite often, when
spyware is removed, the program(s) associated with it will not function
properly, if at all. (A good example of this is KaZaa.) This is the source
of the warning message. So, if you find that one or more programs downloaded
from the internet do not work, it is most likely because you have removed
the spyware component(s). If you really want to use the affected programs,
you will have to put up with the spyware.
