I copied this from the alt.comp.os.windows-xp group....
Perhaps y'all can help?
(Please)
Dob

I have the same problem. Sony CD-RW CRX140E, XP Pro.
F5 doesn't help, nor does it matter whether you are in explorer, my
computer, or looking for a driver from an install program. or anywhere else
that I can find, except sometimes installing a program from multiple cds.
Reinstalling the cd driver hasn't helped either.
Very frustrating!
Any ideas...? Or better yet - solutions!

Bug in XP. Suggestions:

Open My Computer, right click on the CD Rom in question,
Properties/Hardware/Properties/Volumes/Populate.

Other than that, this problem can occur if you are using Folder view in
Windows Explorer. The view may not be automatically refreshed in Folder view
in Windows Explorer.

To work around this problem, use either of the following methods:

Manually refresh Windows Explorer by pressing F5 or by clicking Refresh on
the View menu in Windows Explorer. And/or Do not use Folder view in Windows
Explorer.

I'll try it.
Thanks for the info and the speed in which it was presented - it didn't take
10 posts. ;-)
