View Full Version : Fast Switching

I have 2 user accounts set up on my computer. Whenever I
wanted to switch from 1 user to another all I would have
to do is press the windows key + l, and that would put me
at the windows welcome screen. I'm not sure what
happened but now when I press windows + L it prompts me
with a dialog box that titled "Unlock Computer". It also
says that "this computer is in use and has been locked"
and then it has my user name and prom[ts me for a
password. I have never set up a password on this
machine. If I just leave it blank and press ok it just
boots me off that screen and puts me back at my desktop.
Does anyone know what I might have done or what can be
done to change this back? I would REALLY appreciate some
help!!!!
Thanks
Nathan

Hi Nathan,
You have disabled Welcome screen and Fast User Switching. To have the
ability to switch users, enable FUS and Welcome Screen.
Click Start > Run > Control Userpasswords
"Change the way user logs on or off"
Enable Welcome Screen and FUS checkboxes.
Restart Windows.
This works only if the PC is not in a domain.
