I have a similar prob.
No probs booting, signing, using xpro. Have one admin, and guest is
disabled.
BUT all the duplicate files are driving me nuts AND I can never find
anything!
Not to mention the darn file name strings are so long, they 'hog' all
windows and can't read 'em without scrolling through them: ie zip
program, save as, send files, etc.
And currently have a fairly small HD
I Have: (Most seems to be just duplicate files) And do I really need
those 'Windows' folders???
My Docs
Documents&Settings
All Users
All Users, Windows
Default User
Default User, Windows
(my name)
User
Now, I did a clean install, but did transfer an entire copy of old C
drive after install.
There is ONLY ME! I am the ONLY user on this pc. I would like to
just have all under MY DOCS.
How can I change this file system???

## So do I. The file system SUCKS bigtime. Seems like it's 50 clicks to
find anything.

## Amen! And the Find feature locks up, is slower than a three legged
turtle, doesn't find a file that may be right on the desktop....
:o( Why did they mess with the FF&F that works so well on W98?

## You got it my friend! It's CRAZY!

## I think that's were the files actually reside - all the confusing
duplicates in the Documents folders are shortcuts that cause more LOST TIME
than anything else.

## You can't - we're all screwed. :-( We'll have to live with it and
hope Gate's sw writers get a CLUE!

I was really disappointed to come back here this morning and find no

LOL. Perhaps we should start a win xpro singles Yahoogroup! And/Or a
'stop computer abuse' list???
The thing I don't understand the MOST is the lack of MVP input re this
prob...

try this:
Pay no attention to how xp is set up to start with. Just delete and
rearrange everything back to win 98 or win me and see what happens.
I did that pretty much and it worked ok except xp complained a lot about
missing this and missing that.

Can always use restore to put them back.

ood slap in the face.
