Windows Installer

Windows Installer pops up everytime I start a new application (click on a
link, open a new window, etc.). The Windows Installer window briefly
appears for a second or two indicating a new install is beginning and then
it closes. This just started happening...I don't know why and it is very
annoying. Is there a way to stop this from happening? Also, I cannot find
wininit.ini via search (showing hidden files). Using XP Home & OE6.

Open ADM. in control-panel,services,scroll down to installer,double click
on it,select to run in manual mode instead of auto.
