I am receiving an error after windows startup that
says "Object Name Already Exists".

OS - XP Home
This computer is not networked.

If anyone has any thoughts on this I would appreciate
hearing them. Thanks.

Hi, Craig.

Is this occurring right after the Windows splash screen and directly before
logon? You might try the following:
Check your Event Viewer {START:RUN: "eventvwr"}, specifically the System log
to see if you are getting Event ID 7000. See what other red stop errors you
are getting.

1. Run the System Configuration Utility (msconfig.exe). Click Start, click
Run, type "msconfig" (without quotes) and then click OK.
2. Select "Selective Startup" and remove all the checks below the Selective
Startup option.
3. Click the Apply button.
4. Reboot your computer and check to see whether this occurred again.

I've seen cases where the Windriver service was failing to start, though it
could be something else too so really pay attention to errors in the System
Log. Fyi, Windriver refers to wdusb.sys.

1) Restart in recovery console
2) cd system32\config
3) listsvc
If windriver is there, change its start type from auto to manual.
enable windrive service_demand_start
