HP IIIP Printing blank pages under XP

I have an HP IIIP running under XP. Recently it started
feeding blanks between the pages of multiple page
documents. Single page docs print fine. If I use the
manual feed tray no blanks feed - only if the paper
cassette is used. I have tried different drivers with no
success. Any ideas?

This most likely is a hardware problem. Although the hpIIIp is a very
reliable workhorse, even it wears out after a while. I recently gave up
on my HPIIIp for similar reasons. If you want to try fixing it
