Using a new desk top running WinXP Home. I was copying
some files from several 3.25 floppies on to the hard
drive. Now when every various programs are launched
(like IE) the floppy drive starts clicking away. What
did I do wrong? And is there a way to correct this?
Thanks.

Sometimes a Recent Documents shortcut (created while copying files from
floppy) or history in the Run list can cause this.

To clear recent documents list: Use Taskbar/Startmenu Properties to clear
recent documents. Go to the Start Menu page, click Customize and then Clear
(or Clear Files if using XP look start menu).

To clear history in the Run box (and IE's history): Internet Options>
General> History> Clear.
