Cause I'm paying money for nothing except to spend hours trying and not
reading messages.
You preferred option may be to let MS screw you but I'll fight back. I gave
them 5 days before reacting. That's ample time. It takes 8 hours to rebuild
the server. So I gave them 15 times as long as they needed.

Microsoft does not monitor these news groups, they are unmoderated. All
you're doing is spamming everyone else who reads these news groups. If you
want action you won't get results sitting in a chair at a computer.
Your posts are totally psychotic.

I waited paitently for 5 days. If my computer ever tries to pull this stuff
I yank the power cord out of the wall. I can't do that to the MS servers.
And my main concern is the theft of my time.
I stopped downloading all message bodies when XP was released as I can't
afford to download all traffic as I was incurring $30 to $60 in excess
usuage charges. So when the bodies aren't available I can't read them.
I don't download anything from Windows Update (or any program from anywhere)
cos I can't afford to go into excess usuage charges. I spend 20% of my
income, not including capital costs, to answer others posts and read the
paper online (saves $8 per week). If I don't watch excess usuage (and excess
phone calls) I can pay up to 40% of my income.
But it's the hours of not getting posts that I'm upset about.

We all experienced this, and it is very much a disappointment when the
replies don't show about a dozen + posts that are in limbo, some of them
were posts that I spent some time researching to help the poster. It is very
frustrating when your efforts are lost due to a software malfunction. I
think we all have the same agenda to help our fellow peers with support from
experience or research.

As I said to someone tonight - I'm sure that many take pleasure in seeing MS
called on it. As MVPs can't act like I do someone should do it.
As far as I know the only place MS has made announcements about it is in
private groups. Which most of us here don't see.
There is one post in a thread that I've been trying to get the body since
8pm (5 hours). Finally gave up marked the whole group as read.
At the Win2000 launch they had compaq there showing how you could unplug a
server and everything rolls over to another server without the user
realising it. Guess it doesn't work for NNTP.

Mr. b,
your response here was not helpful and is perhaps the
most idiotic compilation I've read in a long time. Go
away!
Note: Mr. Candy, I feel your pain even if I'm powerless
to help. Some of us appreciate your contribution!

Maybe you should subscribe to an internet service without such high charges
then? Or just don't bother posting until the problems are all resolved? I
know it's really annoying, but without knowing the nature of the technical
problem, 5 days could easily be the shortest time it takes to fix! Maybe
they've had to order parts that are out of supply? Who knows..... Constant
moaning about it certainly isn't improving the issue, and could even hurt
the good standing you have in these groups....

Something that is given away can not be stolen. If it's taking to
long..LOG OFF. Nobody is making you stay online. There is no requirement
that you read the newsgroups. Youd choose to spend the time here. You are
not paying to access the MS servers. You have no reason to bitch. MS is
under no obligation to provide them and offers no gaurantees.
