Word documents saving w/ only 1st letter, & kanji in savebar

My word documents only save in the first letter of the
name i type in. No matter what i type, it will only save
under the first letter. To add to that, the box that i
type the name in has all these random chinese characters
in it! i don't know how to change or get rid of that. it
might be a virus, but i have no idea how to get rid of
it. Much help would be great. thanks
