View Full Version : Change Network password

I am running WinXP Pro. I connect to a WinNT or Win2000 server via dialup.

In older versions of Windows, such as Win98, there was a Password icon in
the control panel. This icon allowed one to change their local password for
the PC. It would also allow one to change their networking password if you
were connected to the server.

This later option seems to have disappeared from WinXP. How can I change my
networking password on WinXP while dialed-in to the server?

Is the server the domain controller for your machine?

You should be press CTRL+ALT+DEL and press the "Change Password" button.

Eric,

Thanks for the response. Apologies for not responding earlier.

I assume the server is the domain controller. How to I go about checking
that? Are you referring to the DNS setting/IP setting on the dial-in set
up?

When I am dialed-in to the server I tried the C-A-D sequence, but no "Change
Password" button is present.
The Windows Task Manager shows tabs across the top for Applications,
Processes, Performance, Networking, and Users.
There is not a "change password" button when I click on each Tab.

Thanks.
Moose
