View Full Version : New system errors!

I recently bought a Cybercom P4 3Gig system with XP Home Edition.

I previously had a P3 600 I made myself with XP Pro and never had one crash
or problem but the new system seems to have a few problems.

If you try and do too much at the same time (used to with the old system
with no probs!) it will just freeze, and today when I turned it on it
stopped at the P4 logo and wouldn't boot up. I switched it off at the mains
and back on again and when it got to the desktop it said it had recovered
from a serious error! There is a log report but I cannot find it.

Would anyone be able to help me find this report and maybe have a look at it
for me and give me some idea why this system if so unstable?

Many thanks in advance for any help guys!

Incidentally, ran a virus test today (AVG) and half way thru my screen cut
to the P4 Logo and I had to turn off the power. On reboot I got the
following messages....

Your system has recovered from a serious error

ERROR SIGNATURE

BCCODE : C5 BCP1:00400040 BCP2 00000002 BCP3 0000000 BCP4 : 805380B2
OSVer : 5_1_2600
SP : 1_0
Product : 768_1

I re-ran the test and it completed fine and said no errors and yes, I am
running the latest virus update.

Just thought this might shed some light on the error!

Thanks

G

Sounds like you should go back to the tech support people where you bought
the system as it should be under warranty. Rebooting in the middle as it is
doing could be a number of problems from power supply, overheating or simply
improper configuration of software or hardware.

One more thing...

Why in device manager, under processors, do I have two entries exactly the
same for Inter(R) Pentium(R) 4CPU 3.00 GHz

Is that normal to have that entry twice under Processors or could this be a
problem?

Thanks

This could be anything, coming from some piece of
faulty hardware. You say it is new. Take it back to
have them make it right.
