Autoplay on CD/DVD

Hi I have a problem with the autoplay function on my CD/
DVD ROM.

When a cd/ dvd is inserted it will not auto start. I have
checked the properties and selected autoplay with a
software product but it still doesn't work. I have also
tried holding my shift key and right clicking on the
drive but I can no longer see Open With to select a
software product.

Any ideas
