Loading personal settings takes FOREVER

I have XP Home at home with three user profiles loaded. When any of us
clicks on our name on the welcome screen to log on it takes approximately 1
minute for personal settings to load. Is there a fix for this or is it
something I will just have to live with? It hasn't always been this slow.

It probably depends on what each user has loaded
