Hi,

how often are critical and non critical updates availeble
to the user,and notified when they come out? Also can you
get rid of the Updates that you donnot wannt too install,
that are still on your system? If so how? Thanks Rob...

Basically, "as needed" but you can request (on the Windows
Update page) email notification of updates. You'll get an
email that tells you an update is available and you go to
Windows Update. You can also configure XP to automatically
check for, download and/even install updates.
