I am seeing this size post under different names and different senders
yesterday and this morning. It's too coincidental, therefore, it smells
like a virus. Anyone else have information ? May not be a good idea to
open until this is clarified as safe.

It's safe to open. It's pretending to be a virus but is just crap.

Unless I do it by accident, I never open NG postings that are larger
than 3-4KB.

BTW, is it possible to configure OE 6 to block newsgroup postings with
file attachments? I have browsed thru the settings and not seen that option
yet.

Look in message rules. And set up a rule where no of lines is more than x
delete it.

Mail rules can delete messages with attachment.
