new hp psc 2400xi

I have just installed a new hp psc 2400xi.My pc is compac
model 5008us.Program is xp. I have 128 mb of ram. Just
enough to get by. Is there a way for me to purchase more
ram? Is this a hardware or software problem, or both?
Also fax came with it and i'm not useing it at this time.
Can I disable it by removing the phone line? Or how?

128mb of RAM is just the minimum. XP runs very nicely with 512mb...
