Wont print

I just installed lexmark x1150 all in one...some times when i go to print a test page one of the following will happen
restart the computer.
cartridge stall.
cannot communicate with printer

i have made sure i have all xp updates and made sur have latest driver for printer what next...
the self test on the printer works fine
