pop up blocker a nuicance

I all of a sudden have a popup blocker that is preventing me from opening certain links on the internet. I did not install this, and it is nowhere to be found in my "add/remove programs" file. I have a feeling was downloaded from a windows automatic upda
te. Can anyone tell me how to get rid of this.

Disable the pop-ups blocker at the Browser Helper Object level and see =
if that helps.
