does anyone know how to make a backup disk for XP? I did
something to my system such that it wouldn't turn on
(started up; the monitor clicked; it turned off, and then
kept repeating this cycle). All the system restore steps
in Microsoft help assume you can see a screen. I can
make an MS/DOS backup disk but can I get to XP from there?

(by the way, I got up and running by starting over with
factory software install--and had all my data backed up--
but I don't wnat to go through that again)

thanks

With the Professional Edition you can create an ASR backup to restore
Windows from a plain DOS prompt or by booting from the Windows-CD.
This is not available in the Home Edition.
