When I boot up my computer in XP, before all the Windows
screens start appearing, I get a 2-second screen saying
something about not being able to find autochk.exe.

Any ideas why it can't find it, or what its significance
is? There is an autochk.exe located under
C:\windows\system32, which is 553 KB in size and dated
3/31/2003.

I haven't always had this error message appear.

Thanks,
John

Autochk.exe runs automatically any time you specify that you want to schedule
a disk check to run at startup. See KB article Q216461. Where else does
'autochk' appear on your system?
