Hi Michael,
Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\
VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD
In the right pane, double click VDD and clear the Value Data. Or delete VDD
and re-create VDD - REG_MULTI_SZ with no Value Data.

Michael rambled on in microsoft.public.windowsxp.newusers:
> RNBOVDD.DLL
The RNBOVDD.DLL is a Device Driver used for DOS and Windows 16-bit
applications and is not needed for WinNT/2K/XP and Win32s applications. The
DLL will cause an error "RNBOVDD.DLL: Virtual device driver failed to
initialize" under Windows. If the protected application is an WinNT/2K/XP
application, the RNBOVDD.DLL should be removed to alleviate the error.
To remove the RNBOVDD.DLL driver:
Run the Registry Editor (\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\REGEDT32.EXE).
Select the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE window.
Double click on SYSTEM. Double click on CURRENT CONTROL SET. Double click on
CONTROL. Select VIRTUAL DEVICE DRIVERS.
Double click on VDD:.......RNBOVDD.DLL line on the right side of the window.
Delete RNBOVDD.DLL. Confirm by pressing OK.
Shutdown and restart Windows.
Note:The installation of RNBOVDD.DLL can be avoided in OEMSETUP.EXE
(supported in PD-5.30 and earlier) by removing the line with RNBOVTMP.DLL in
each of the sections. Installation cannot be avoided in PD-5.33 or later.
