i have recently upgraded to win xp professional from win
98 and now no longer have dos. i am unable to figure out
how to use my 3.5 floopy programs and data disks or how
to format them can some one help me

Put your xp cd in the cdrom drive and reboot if your system isn't setup to
boot from the rom the you may have to go into the bios setup and set the
first boot device to the cdrom *see your docs on how to get to the bios
settings for your machine*.
