View Full Version : Annoying taskbar problems

My taskbar decided it would be necissary and important to
dissappear from my desktop.

I'm talking about the little bar at the bottom with the
start menu button, not some other technical thinger. I
searched for "taskbar" in the search area, and it came up
with this thing called "Shortcut to Taskbar and Startup
Menu". It was under "C:/WINDOWS/". I opened it, and nothing
happened, the taskbar didn't appear. I've also tried
positioning my monitor with the buttons at the bottom. I
did a verticle move, and there wasnt any taskbar in sight.
Only the end of the desktop and then black. I did the
Control-Alt-Delete thing, and it said that the taskbar
process was running, it just wasn't appearing.

I really don't want to reformat this crappy operating
system to make it work. I'm really newbie at windows, as
I've been a Mac user, and probably will stay one for years
to come.

Please help.

Thanks,
Tom.

The taskbar is either hidden (moving the mouse to the far bottom of
the screen will make it appear) or minimised, so dragging the top edge
of the bar upwards will may it appear!

Taskbar options can be set via the Control Panel (Appearance and
themes). See 'Taskbar and Start Menu'.
