I got it!! I went to Control Panel - Display - Themes
Tab - changed it to Windows XP. When I hit "Apply" it
took the windows top part and made it normal size again,
thank goodness. I experimented while I was there and
noticed that what I had done was somehow managed to
change this setting to Windows Classic as that appears to
look like what I had. All seems OK for now and I thank
you for the help. Bill
